The wall paint is "Posy" by Sherwin Williams. It's the softest, loveliest peach of all time. So pretty. And then I just started gathering things in yellow and peach: fabric, paper, a chalkboard, etc. And with a touch of grey added to the mix, it felt like my style. A little hodge podge, a little mismatched, a little whimsy, a little traditional. Finished it just sort of feels like the rest of our home!
In the wall shelf are some very special items: an old Rapunzel ornament that belonged to my mom and it used to sit on my dresser as a little girl, the library checkout card from On Market Street (my favorite book in kindergarten) with my name on it (from 1991), Will's Peter Rabbit porridge bowl and Fierce Bad Rabbit (purchased in England by his Nana and Papa), Will's baby cup with his monogrammed initials, and a teeny tiny bracelet with Hattie's named engraved on it just waiting for her teeny tiny wrist!
Thank you to everyone who helped me pull this nursery off...my dad for the very special dresser, my mom for consultation/chalk paint/crib mattress, Will's parents for the wonderful gift of hiring a painter, Mary Morgan for the PERFECT paper for lining the shelves and the prettiest canvas for the wall, and last but certainly not least...my amazing husband for getting that dresser down single handedly, sanding the dresser, putting the crib together, redoing all the trim in Hattie's room, fixing the blinds, updating all the outlets, moving furniture, and caring so much about my vision for her room.
And thank you to everyone who gave us gifts, encouragement, and support. We cannot wait for Hattie to be here and we are so excited to introduce her to all the people we love!
